LAD acquired the iconic Dupont Circle Starbucks Building -- which includes the first Starbucks in the Eastern United States -- and the adjacent Beadazzled building, in March 2010, purchasing the properties in a sale-leaseback from the Starbucks Corporation. LAD is combining the 12,000 square foot buildings, expanding the Starbucks store to the second floor corner (which Starbucks will renovate as its flagship East Coast store), and renovating all remaining floors into high-end boutique office and retail spaces.
